Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I want to play Star Wars Armada?

That is a broad question. Let me respond with some questions in response. Do you like the Star Wars Universe? Do you like big battles with capital ships? Do you like stratigic thinking, and trying to think about two or three turns in the future? Do you like making pew pew noises while playing with beautiful models? Do you like rolling dice? If any of your responses are yes, I would suggest giving Star Wars Armada a shot.

What makes Armada unique?

Most tabletop games incorperate a move and then shoot mechanics. Armada is unique in that it plays the opposite way. With a shoot–and–then–move mechanic, you have to think ahead and gauge your distances well. All the models are also prepainted, which allows newcomers and avid hobbyists alike to have beautiful looking ships on the table, bringing you into the immersion on day one. Damage mitigation is also unique in Armada, using exhaustable tokens that can be refreshed and reused, or used instantly with permanent effects and consequences.

Can I fly my favorite ship?

More than likely yes! Star Wars Armada has a wide variety of ships from 4 different factions, spanning the Clone Wars to the Galactic Civil War. You can use a Super Star Destroyer, which is over two feet long, or fly Anakin in his Delta-7 Aethersprite. Each of the capital ships are also customizable, allowing you to accentuate and specialize its strengths in your own way.

There are factions you say? Are there stronger factions than others?

There are 4 different factions: The Imperial Empire, The Galactic Rebellion, The Grand Army of the Rebublic and The Seperatist Alliance all wage war. You can have cross era games, with Separatists fighting against the Rebellion for example. Even though the factions tend to play a little different than each other with their own flavor, no faction is stronger than the other, and there are different playstyles within each faction. Thats the best part of Armada, there are constantly new ways to play and different things to try, players are coming up with new ideas all the time.

Where can I find people to play with?

Check your local game/hobby store! Usually if they carry the game product they support it through local games or tournaments. Most people are friendly and are more than willing to teach a new player the ropes of the game. Another great resource to find people to play with are going to be social media groups through Facebook, Discord, etc. Usually you can find a main group, and then a group oriented towards a local area where you can organize games/tournaments.
